Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 25, 2026

MedResolve AI helps users understand medical bills and prepare potential next steps for resolving them. We aim to collect the minimum data needed to operate the service.

Plain-English Summary

  • We process the documents you upload to generate educational guidance.
  • We do not sell your personal information or use it for targeted advertising.
  • You can delete cases and documents at any time.

This summary is for convenience. The full policy below controls.

Information We Collect

We may collect the following categories of information:

  • Account information: basic identifiers needed to sign in and use the service (for example, an email address and user ID from our authentication provider).
  • Uploaded content: documents you upload (such as medical bills and EOBs) and information you enter related to a case.
  • Derived data: extracted text, structured charge data, analyses, and resolution plans generated from your uploads.
  • Answers about your household: if you choose to answer the “Ways to pay less” questions (whether insurance covered a visit, household size, yearly income and state), we keep them with your account so you don't have to answer again. We use them only to check your own bills for financial assistance and fair prices, never share or sell them, and you can change or clear them at any time from a bill's page.
  • Feedback: if you answer “Did this help?” on a case, we keep your answer, any amount you tell us you saved, and your comment. We only quote a comment if you tick the box allowing it, and never with your name.
  • Usage and technical data: basic logs used for security, debugging, and reliability (for example, timestamps and request metadata).

Definitions

For clarity, the following terms are used throughout these policies:

  • “MedResolve AI” means the MedResolve AI website, application, and related services.
  • “Content” means documents and information you upload or enter into MedResolve AI, including medical bills, EOBs, notes, and related case details.
  • “Derived Data” means extracted text, structured charge data, analyses, plans, and action tracking generated from your Content.
  • “Service Providers” means third parties that help us operate the service (for example hosting, authentication, database, and document processing).

How We Use Information

We use information to:

  • Provide and operate MedResolve AI (including document processing)
  • Generate educational analyses, plans, and action tracking
  • Maintain security, prevent abuse, and troubleshoot issues
  • Improve product reliability and user experience

AI & Automation

MedResolve AI may use automated systems, including AI-based tools, to analyze uploaded documents and generate guidance. These systems do not make decisions for you and may produce incomplete or incorrect results. You should review outputs carefully before taking action.

MedResolve AI does not act on your behalf and does not contact providers, insurers, or billing entities for you.

Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We may share information only in limited situations:

  • Service providers: vendors that help us operate the app. Today these are Vercel (hosting and file storage), Neon (database), Clerk (sign-in), OpenAI (reading and analyzing the documents you upload), Stripe (payments), HeyCatch (product analytics), and Google (measuring our ads, described under Cookies & Analytics). They are permitted to process data only to provide services to us. Under OpenAI's API terms, the documents we send are not used to train its models; OpenAI may keep them for up to 30 days to monitor for abuse.
  • Payments: card details are entered on Stripe's checkout page and go directly to Stripe. We never see or store your full card number. We keep a record of what you purchased so we can unlock it for you.
  • Legal and safety: if required to comply with law or to protect the rights, safety, and security of users and the service.

Data Retention & Deletion

We keep your cases and documents until you delete them. You can delete a document or a whole case at any time; we then delete it from our database and file storage. Copies held by our service providers (for example, OpenAI's up-to-30-day abuse monitoring) and in backups expire on those providers' schedules.

If you check a bill without an account, it's tied to a private cookie in your browser, and only that browser can open it. If you don't save it to an account, we delete it, with its documents and any answers you gave, 30 days after you last changed it. If you create an account or sign in on the same browser, your bills move into your account.

To delete your account and everything in it, email support@medresolveai.com from the address you signed up with. We keep payment records as long as tax and accounting rules require, and limited information where needed for security and fraud prevention.

Cookies & Analytics

We use cookies that are needed to keep you signed in (set by Clerk) and to complete payments (set by Stripe on its checkout page). If you check a bill without an account, a cookie keeps that bill private to your browser for 30 days. We use Vercel Web Analytics to count page visits; it does not use cookies or track you across other sites.

We advertise on Google. To see whether our ads work, our public pages (the home page, pricing, guides and the upload page) load Google's ad measurement tag, which can set a Google Ads cookie. When you start a bill check, Google is told only that a check started. It never receives your documents, the provider, amounts or anything about your bill, and pages that show your bills don't load the tag. We don't use Google for remarketing or ad personalization, so we don't follow you around the web with our ads. You can also limit Google's ad cookies in your browser or in your Google account at myadcenter.google.com.

We also use HeyCatch to understand how people use the site: which pages they visit and which buttons they press. It stores a random visitor id in a cookie and your browser's local storage. On pages that show your bills, we remove the text of anything you click before it's sent, so your bill details, amounts and answers are never shared with HeyCatch, and we don't record your screen. If you have an account, HeyCatch also receives your account id, email address and name, when you signed up, and which plan you bought, so we can see how the product is used over time.

Your Choices & Rights

You can see, download and delete your documents in the app at any time. For anything else, including a copy of the information we hold about you or deleting your account, email support@medresolveai.com. We respond within 30 days. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under state privacy laws; we honor those requests the same way.

If we ever learn of a security breach affecting your information, we will notify you and any authorities as the law requires.

Children

MedResolve AI is for adults (18 and over). You may upload bills for a child or another family member you're responsible for. We don't knowingly collect information from children under 13 using the service themselves.

Security

We use reasonable safeguards designed to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Not HIPAA

MedResolve AI is not a healthcare provider and is not intended to be used as a HIPAA-covered service. Please avoid uploading information you do not want processed by this application.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. Continued use of MedResolve AI after changes means you accept the updated policy.
